About me
I am licensed in New York with 15 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I am trained in Rational Emotive Cognitive Behavior Therapy (by the Albert Ellis Institute of New York), EMDR (by EMDRIE) and my practice also includes interventions from Gestalt, DBT, Internal Family Systems, and other therapy approaches. I believe that when addressing fears and anxieties, the most effective approach is to work toward facing those fears a little bit at a time with tenderness, patience, acceptance, and imagination. I often see clients work through their problems and experience relief from symptoms after getting to the bottom of their core fear. In my practice, I also see a lot of individuals with perfectionistic styles, traumatic backgrounds, and self-neglect, that result in procrastination or overwork, burnout, and self-blame. I am here to support and empower you to change these symptoms by shifting to flexible attitudes and beliefs, which frees up room for problem-solving and behavior change.

Treatment philosophy & approaches
I believe that the most efficient therapy approach is to help clients examine their beliefs that are causing distress, and help them form healthy flexible beliefs that lead to healthy undisturbed emotions. If clients engage in homework in between session, it also enhances their gains in therapy. While my approach is somewhat directive, it is not pushy. Clients get to decide what interventions they want to engage in as well as the pace, and the issues they want to unpack in each session. In my experience, a cognitive approach is not for everyone. I am also able to use interventions that involve somatic work and visualization. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence-based approach to treat trauma, anxiety and many other disorders.
Treats with the following approaches
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Trauma-Focused
Mindfulness-Based(MBCT)

Culturally Sensitive
Eclectic
Emotionally Focused
