About me
Hello! My name is Donna Miller-Lewis, and I'm a dedicated Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Meriden, CT. With over a decade of experience, I have had the privilege of working in diverse healthcare settings, helping patients from all walks of life.

I have worked at multiple major hospitals in CT as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, including St. Francis Hospital, Waterbury Hospital and most recently at St. Vincent Hospital. I have both inpatient and out patient experience along with emergency room experience and consult liaison for patients on other units throughout the various hospitals. I assess patients in the Emergency Department, and make the determination for admission to a psychiatric hospital, or discharge to follow up with an outpatient provider. I am experience in treating patients from age 5 to geriatric, but my main specialty is children age 16 to adults age 65.

My journey in nursing began with an AAS Degree from Helene Fuld College of Nursing, followed by a BSN from New Rochelle College of Nursing, and finally, a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of St. Joseph.

Throughout my career, I have done bedside nursing, I have overseen nursing teams, developed care plans, and ensured accurate and timely medical documentation. My many roles and expertise have included Assistant Director of Nursing, Nursing Supervisor, Clinical Nurse Liaison/consult.

Patient care is my passion, and I am committed to providing compassionate, professional service. I believe in collaborating with families to create comprehensive care plans that best suit the needs of each individual.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me. If you or a loved one need psychiatric care or support, I'm here to help. Feel free to reach out!

Warm regards,
Donna Miller-Lewis, APRN

Treatment philosophy & approaches
I believe that all patients are not the same, it is not a one all fit all, therefore my approach is every individual is different and unique. Therefore my goal is to take the time to know you as an individual and why you are seeking mental health treatment. It is my ultimate goal to get you back to the level where you can function and be a productive member in society. In order to achieve these goals the first step is listening to your concerns and needs and try to meet them by us working together as a team. My job is not only to prescribe multiple pills to you but to find an effective treatment module/plan that fits you as an individual and not to adapt to the consensus that one cap fits all, or the answers to your complex problems are in a bottle.
Treats with the following approaches
Culturally Sensitive
Emotionally Focused
Humanistic
Coaching
Trauma-Focused
Person-Focused
