About me
Hello! I'm Iona Barge (Jamie), a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. My passion is providing compassionate and effective care to individuals managing mental health challenges, life stressors, depression related to unwanted weight gain, anxiety, couples counseling, family issues, children and adolescent concerns, challenging teenagers, and LGBQT counseling.

I believe that building a provider-client relationship inspires positive teamwork and creates an environment where clients feel safe and supported. My background includes working with dual diagnosis populations, where I've honed skills in assisting those in managing barriers that cause life stressors or distorted thinking about the future. I am adept at turning around negative behaviors or unwanted beliefs by channeling the mindset towards positive attaining goals. this process is done by using evidence-based practice tools that have proven to show positive effects on ones standpoint. Assessing, diagnosing, and prescribing treatment for various conditions, ensures clear communication with you and that is the goal. Psychotherapy, talk therapy, CBT, laugh therapy (when appropriate), positive interventions, and useful tools supports my approach in practice.

In addition to clinical care, I take pride in my ability to lead clients and foster a supportive atmosphere you would feel comfortable sharing. Healing starts 'external' as well as 'internal' and both are important for these matters in improving patient outcomes.

Support for weight gain therapy related to depression or stress. Excessive weight gain may be due to depression or stress, lets about how you could address the cause of stress/anxiety.

If you're looking for a dedicated professional provider, I am eager to contribute my skills and experience to help you leave behind the shattered feeling of being defeated. Let's work together to provide the best care possible.
