About me
I have been practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner for about 18 years and have been managing ADHD/ADD, Anxiety, OCD, Insomnia & Depression for the last few years.
I obtained my BSN from Marquette University, with a minor in Psychology. Ten years later, I graduated from NIU with a Master of Science and became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I have many years of first-hand experience with common mental health issues in my own family and friends.
I prefer that my patients have genetic testing done, usually covered by most insurance plans (billed separately through Genesight), before I prescribe new medications or switch my patients’ medications.
If insurance coverage is not available, there is financial aid offered by Genesight. Also, I can order testing for a specific gene mutation that seems to
be linked to mental health problems. This will ensure the medications and/or supplements are a good fit for the patients & genetic dynamics, which can affect outcomes.
