I believe that
healing can only occur when we look at ourselves with compassion and clarity.
While learning coping skills is helpful and often necessary, the flexibility
and frustration tolerance that every life requires is only achievable by
learning to let go of the internal struggles and self-criticism. That is why I
was drawn to IFS, an approach that offers concrete tools to bring about healing
using self-compassion. In IFS we have a saying “there are no bad parts” to mean
that even our inner critic is a well-meaning part that has become stuck in this
role, without realizing that criticism hurts more than helps. Let me help you
change how you relate to these different parts of you and stop fighting
yourself.
